Topics Of A Thyng

A Thyng, or Althyng, is like a house meeting where members can make requests/complaints to their leadership, new members can pledge for thrallship and Important announcements can be made.

Rules of a Thyng.

  • Only Full members can speak/make requests during a Thyng.
  • The House Leader presides over the meeting.
    • Failure to comply with a house leader during a thyng can lead to penalties, or punishment, or even loss of membership or demotion.
  • The House Leader may open the floor to thralls after all major business has been taken care of.
  • House leaders may hand out House-level awards and trinkets if they find someone worthy. (Should their house have such awards)
  • House Leaders should discuss the handbook and answer any questions from members.
    • Handbook Q&A sessions should involve thralls so they can be familiarized with it.
  • Members are allowed to invite non-members to thyngs, but it should be cleared with the House Leader first.
  • Event Attendance and event schedule planning should be discussed at a Thyng.
    • This includes car pool planning for events.
  • Any other proceedings are up to the House Leader.

Rules of an Althyng

  • Only Dues-Paying Full members can speak/make requests during a Thyng.
  • The Prinz presides over the meeting. (Unless the King or Queen is holding an Althyng, then they shall preside over the meeting.)
    • Failure to comply with the Prinz during a thyng can lead to penalties, or punishment, or even loss of membership or demotion.
  • The Prinz should not hand out awards or trinkets at an althyng, that is what Court is for.
  • The Prinz may open the floor to thralls after all major business has been taken care of.
  • The Prinz should discuss the Handbook and answer any questions from members.
    • Handbook Q&A sessions should involve thralls so they can be familiarized with it.
  • The Prinz may invite non-members to the Althyng. Should a member wish for a non-member to attend, they should consult their house leader or the Prinz for permission.
  • Which events to attend for the year should be discussed at Althyngs along with general event planning.
